The project is expected to contribute to the professional training and retraining of at least 1,800 individuals and the direct employment of at least 600 people from the target groups. This will be achieved through employment support with an employer, starting a business, or formalising existing employment.

The initiative will be implemented through the creation of at least 20 programmes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, primarily focused on green and digitally intensive jobs, and will be carried out using non-repayable grants. Antonella Di Sandri, Head of Operations for Economic Development, Natural Resources, and Infrastructures at the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasised that the EU has been a long-term partner in strengthening the employment sector in the country.

According to her, this new programme will address structural labour market challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which disproportionately affect certain groups of citizens. It is yet another example of the EU’s commitment to the country’s progress and shared future.

"Job creation is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic necessity. By investing in people, we can help build a stronger and more resilient society. We will continue to fund targeted active labour market measures to support employment and economic growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina", said Di Sandri.

Katarina Crnjanski-Vlajčić, Technical Specialist for Social Inclusion and Public Employment Services at the International Labour Organisation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressed gratitude to the EU for recognising the organisation as a reliable partner. She highlighted their readiness to apply their professional expertise and years of experience in preparing the workforce for future job opportunities.
