Montenegro has doubled its exports to the CEFTA region over the past five years, showcasing the growing impact of regional trade cooperation. In 2023, Montenegro’s exports to the CEFTA region reached €326.7 million, representing an increase of 103.2% compared to €160 million in 2018.

During the same period, Montenegro’s total exports rose from €400 million in 2018 to €674.3 million in 2023, marking an impressive growth of 68.5%.

The Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) has significantly boosted regional trade cooperation, strengthening economic ties among member countries.

According to data shared by CEFTA with Pobjeda daily, the value of total trade within the region reached €8.5 billion in 2023, reflecting a 62.4% increase compared to 2018. This growth highlights CEFTA’s importance not only as a platform for trade liberalisation but also as a vital mechanism for integrating the region into the European market.

Montenegro has emerged as a leader in export growth, demonstrating the expanded opportunities and potential that CEFTA offers to its member states.
