The Ministry of Justice announced that improved versions of the draft amendments to the package of judicial laws had been sent to the Serbian Parliament for delivery to the rapporteurs of the Venice Commission, in accordance with the conclusions reached during an online meeting held by Justice Minister Nenad Vujić with the rapporteurs on Friday, 15 May.

According to the statement, explanations of certain proposed solutions - towards which the Venice Commission rapporteurs expressed a generally positive position during the online meeting - were also forwarded to them through the National Assembly.

These documents were also sent to Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, to Commissioner for Justice and Consumers Michael McGrath, as well as to Andreas von Beckerath, Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia.

The improved versions of the draft judicial laws have also been published on the Ministry of Justice’s website.

The amendments concern the Law on Public Prosecution, the Law on the Organisation and Jurisdiction of State Authorities in Combating High-Tech Crime, the Law on the Seats and Territorial Jurisdictions of Courts and Public Prosecutors’ Offices, the Law on Judges, and the Law on the High Prosecutorial Council.
