More than 30 parliamentarians from 28 European member states of the Council of Europe are on a two-day official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the initiative of MP Sabina Ćudić, in her capacity as Vice-Chair of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

"This is one of the most significant international parliamentary visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent times, during which European parliamentarians from countries such as France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Ireland, Spain, and many others will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the current political challenges facing Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to discuss possible models of solutions in line with European standards and the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights," Ćudić said.

This is the first major initiative she has launched since being elected Vice-Chair of the Monitoring Committee in January this year.

Several months of intensive work went into organising this session in order to enable representatives of European countries to discuss directly the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the challenges of the constitutional system, and the country’s European prospects.

A special session will be held in the Blue Hall of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where Ćudić will moderate a discussion on the constitutional structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the implementation of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. One of the speakers at this session will be the distinguished Bosnian legal expert Nedim Ademović.

"Since I was elected Vice-Chair of the Monitoring Committee of the Council of Europe in January this year, I have been working intensively on organising the visit and holding the session in Sarajevo so that, at the highest level, representatives of a large number of countries can be acquainted with the facts regarding the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, advocate solutions beneficial to the state, and also become familiar with the significant potential of our country," Ćudić emphasised.
