Luigi Soreca once again warned that Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) risks losing up to €373.9 million allocated to it by the EU under the Growth Plan unless immediate steps are taken to fulfil the measures set out in the Reform Agenda and to advance along its European path.
"This comes in addition to €108 million lost in 2025," Soreca underlined.
According to him, in recent times the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have made no progress in adopting measures from the Reform Agenda, which are intended, among other things, to improve digitalisation and reduce congestion in administrative services, reform the judicial system, and support the transition towards a greener and cleaner future.
"The Reform Agenda is not a set of abstract technical measures; it is a plan for a better future," Soreca wrote on X.
He also warned that the Growth Plan, which includes nearly €1 billion for Bosnia and Herzegovina in exchange for implementing reforms, is results-based and comes with clear deadlines, meaning that inaction carries a cost.
The European Growth Plan for the Western Balkans is worth a total of €6 billion. Projects planned to be financed under the plan must be completed by the end of 2027, with no extensions to the deadlines.
